Fight Gone Bad is an annual fundraising event that raised over $1 million last year and has raised over $2 million since its inception.
It’s your chance to help three worthy causes and become introduced to the CrossFit Genesis fitness program in a safe and beginner-friendly environment. The Fight Gone Bad 5 event consists of a workout called “Fight Gone Bad”.
How to Participate
Participants will take part in the “Fight Gone Bad” workout at the final event on Saturday, Sept. 25th. To be eligible for the final event, participants must raise at least $100 and take part in at least two free “Fight Gone Bad” classes at CrossFit Genesis before the final event. These classes will be held every Friday from July 30th through Sept. 17th. CrossFit Genesis members do NOT need to attend two “Fight Gone Bad” classes during the challenge, though you are still encouraged to do so.

The Workout
In this workout, you move through five stations, completing as many repetitions as possible in one minute at each station. After completing each of the five stations, there is a one minute break, then the round is repeated for a total of three rounds. The stations are:
- Wall-ball, 10 ft target, for reps
- Sumo deadlift high-pull (SDLHP), for reps
- Box jump, for reps
- Push press, for reps
- Row, for calories
The clock does not reset or stop between exercises. On call of “rotate”, the athletes must move to next station immediately for a good score. One point is given for each rep, except on the rower where each calorie is one point. There are three divisions:
- Division A (Adv. Men): 75 lb push press and SDLHP,
20 lb wall ball, 20” box jump - Division B (Adv. Women, Int. Men): 55lb push press and SDLHP,
14 lb wall ball, 20” box jump - Division C (Beg/Int.): 35lb push press and SDLHP,
6 lb wall ball, 20” step-ups
The Causes
LIVESTRONG provides support to guide people through the cancer experience, brings them together to fight cancer—and works for a world in which our fight is no longer necessary.
Wounded Warrior Project honors and empowers wounded warriors by raising awareness and enlisting the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women; helping severely injured service members aid and assist each other; and providing unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members.
The CrossFit Foundation provides support and assistance to the men and women of the military, law enforcement and first responder communities and their families, and works to enhance the quality of life and fitness of deserving families.
Challenge Rules
Fight Gone Bad 5 includes a challenge open to all participants. Like our other challenges throughout the year, this is a competition. Prizes will be awarded for most improved male and female, as well as highest scores in the advanced divisions. Unlike other challenges, there is no entry fee per se, only that you must raise $100 to participate in the final event. To participate in the challenge, you must attend the first Fight Gone Bad Friday on July 30th to get your baseline score.
