The only constant in life is change and CrossFit Genesis is no exception to this rule — after all, that’s how we get Better Than Yesterday. Since we opened our doors in 2008, we’ve constantly been striving to change and improve. Sometimes we’ve tweaked things subtly and gradually, other times more drastically. These changes have always been rooted in our mission to provide world-class coaching and a phenomenal experience to members of our community.
Hopefully by now, you’ve seen Phil’s message yesterday. If not, please give it a read on the blog. It would take me a long time to fully capture everything Phil has brought to CrossFit Genesis. From the beginning, he was the one who brought the cajones necessary to act on the idea of opening a CrossFit gym. And for the past four years, he has sacrificed countless hours from his wife, children and his demanding full-time job to build the best CrossFit gym around. His commitment to our community has never wavered. I count myself lucky to have met him at that certification years ago and hope to see many more great things in his future.
Early this year, we started building a core team of superstars whose mission has been to immerse themselves in every aspect of making CrossFit Genesis great. It’s been awesome to work with Sally, Casey and Beth, and to see so many great things happening at CrossFit Genesis as a result.
While Phil is in no way replaceable, our superstar team will be stepping up to not only fill the gaps as much as possible, but continue improving the coaching and experience that you’ll find at CrossFit Genesis. In the short term, Casey and I will be coaching all the classes and some of you will be assigned new personal coaches. Beth will be working hard in many areas, including the running group, and some business aspects of the gym.
This group has been amazing in everything they’ve done since joining our team. I’m excited when I see all the great things going on at CrossFit Genesis, and think about everything that the future holds for everyone here. We’ve got a fantastic team and an incredible community supporting one another.
As students of CrossFit Genesis, you’ll continue to see and experience innovations, improvements and additions to our program. That’s what we do at CrossFit Genesis — always getting Better Than Yesterday. Thank you all for being a part of our community. I’m looking forward to growing and changing with you for years to come!
All the best,
John
